PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of a data transmission rate in a channel for high speed data transmission service when a mobile terminal exists in an area of good reception quality.

SOLUTION: If reception quality at the time of data communication is decided to be sufficient in a step S2 when a compressed mode is judged to be applied in a step S1, a processing of gap section creation of a step S3 is passed and a gap section is not created. When data communication using HS-DSCH is performed in a step S5, data communication by HS-DSCH is continued.
