PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device capable of reducing the man-hour for assembly, shortening the assembling time, and suppressing the cost. SOLUTION: The transmission device is equipped with a first to a third planetary gear mechanism 41-43 installed between the input shaft 2 and the output shaft 3 and a first to a third brake drum 41D-43D coupled with the ring gears of the planetary gear mechanisms 41-43. Each planetary gear mechanism 41-43 is fitted with a drum support 200 in such a way as rotatable in a single piece with its ring gear. Between each brake drums 41D-43D and its drum support 200, a coupling means is provided to put the two members in relative movement substantially in the axial direction coaxially and thereby couple them as capable of making uncoupling in such an arrangement that they can not make relative rotation, and also a movement restricting means to preclude the two members coupled together by the coupling means from making relative movement in the axial direction.
