COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND METHOD HAVING A SHARED LOCAL MEMORY

A communication device having a shared local memory and its method are provided to solve a problem that an AP chip has a large size due to requests for a large number of pin outs, different buses and different interfaces, and power consumption is high because various applications request a certain processing by a CPU. A modem(220) includes a digital signal processor for performing wireless communication. An AP(Application Processor)(210) includes a CPU for controlling a plurality of peripheral devices. A shared memory(240) stores data used in the modem(220) and the AP(210). The shared memory(240) is accessed by the AP(210) and the modem(220) through a common bus. The AP(210), the modem(220) and the shard memory(240) are clocked by a common clock. The data is accessed to/from the shared memory(240) by using a positive edge and a negative edge of the common clock.
