<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which can deal with light of three wavelengths and can be miniaturized and an optical disk drive device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup has one objective lens 1 for condensing light to the recording medium, a carriage 21 which is provided with a lens actuator 10 and is supported movably in a direction crossing the tracks of the recording medium, and three light emitting elements 31, 51, and 81 which emit three beams of the light varying in wavelengths to be irradiated to the recording medium through the objective lens 1. The above optical pickup has a dioptric means 11 which defines the three beams of the light varying in the wavelengths as the first light, the second light and the third light from the side of the shorter wavelengths and aligns and/or separates the first light, the second light and the third light by utilizing the differences in refractive indices due to the differences in the wavelengths and a dichroic prism 70 which aligns and/or separates the second light and the third light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
