PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-frequency coaxial cable having low loss even in use in a GHz region. SOLUTION: The high-frequency coaxial cable is formed by covering an inner conductor with an insulating layer and arranging an outer conductor in the circumference of the insulating layer. The insulating layer is made of a layer whose main component is polyethylene in which the number of end groups per 1000 carbon atoms is 30 or less, represented by following formula (A). Formula (A): the number of end groups (piece/1000C)=31.25×(A<SB>1378</SB>/A<SB>1365</SB>-0.29). In the formula, A<SB>1378</SB>and A<SB>1369</SB>represent an intensity of methyl group symmetric deformation vibration (a peak in the vicinity of 1378 cm<SP>-1</SP>) by end methyl in absorbancy measurement with FT-IR, and an intensity of principal chain methylene wagging vibration (a peak in the vicinity of 1369 cm<SP>-1</SP>), respectively.
