PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover the data trouble of a disk array. SOLUTION: When writing is made to a data set not completing data reconstruction in a state that one HDD in an array 12 is in fault, a CPU 208 conducts control reconstructing the data of the fault HDD in the data set being a candidate for the writing to a spare HDD 120 from a normal HDD. The CPU 208 then performs data writing to a region corresponding to the data set being the candidate for writing of the normal HDD, including the spare HDD 120. Writing region information specifying the writing region is stored on a table TBL 1 during a data writing period. The CPU 208 conducts processing for restoring the compatibility of data to redundant data for all the data sets corresponding to a region under writing indicated by the writing region information stored on the table TBL 1 at a starting moment after abnormally completing the data writing.
