PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent agglomeration of toner inside a casing and also to meet the need of miniaturization of an image forming apparatus by surely preventing deposition of recovered toner inside a casing. SOLUTION: A cleaning apparatus 20 is provided with a blade 40 scraping off residual toner on the peripheral surface of a photoreceptor drum 4, a fur brush 50 which is installed upstream from the blade 40 and whose distal end of bristles 52 is brought into a sliding contact with the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 4 by the forward rotation around a brush shaft 51 which is installed in parallel to the photoreceptor drum 4, and a shaking mechanism to shake the toner scraping off member 80.
