PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device capable of holding a power supply to an ON state or the like if the physical quantity of light or the like is inputted temporarily and enhanced in utility and reliability. SOLUTION: A power supply switch circuit 8 for feeding/cutting off the power of a battery 7 with respect to a load circuit 9 for performing imaging or the like is provided to the capsule type medical device 2 inserted in the body and a current with a predetermined pattern flows to an electromagnet 12 from a pattern producing circuit 15 by operating the switch 14 provided to an outside remote operation device 3 and magnetism with a predetermined pattern is applied to a magnetic sensor 11. The voltage pattern by the sensing/non-sensing of the magnetism of the magnetic sensor 11 is monitored by a pattern monitoring circuit 8 and, only when the voltage pattern coincides with a predetermined pattern within a definite period, the pattern monitoring circuit 18 turns a semiconductor switch 17 on to feed the power of the battery 7 to the load circuit 9.
