摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallel multi-cylinder engine shortened in length of the engine in a front-and-rear direction and width thereof and capable of realizing lowering of the center of gravity of the engine, miniaturization and concentration of mass to a part near the center of gravity. SOLUTION: A virtual plane H including the shaft center 70 of a crank shaft 17 and the shaft center 80 of an input shaft 18 engaged with the crank shaft through a clutch gear 40 is set in the nearly horizontal direction. The shaft center 90 of an output shaft 19 to be engaged with the input shaft 18 is positioned over the virtual plane H. A generator 30 is arranged near the center of gravity G of the engine formed between the crank shaft 17 and the output shaft 19, and the shaft center 30C of the generator 30 is arranged over a virtual tilting surface M for connecting both the shaft centers 70 and 90 of the crank shaft 17 and the output shaft 19 to each other.
