<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a turbocharger having reduced manufacturing cost while improving the total efficiency of the turbocharger by simplifying the construction for reducing mechanical loss while reducing a required supply amount of lubricating oil. <P>SOLUTION: The bearing device for the turbocharger comprises a housing and a turbocharger rotor shaft 6 rotatably supported by the housing, wherein floating bearings 9, 10 are provided on the compressor and turbine sides of the rotor shaft 6, respectively. A bearing bush 8 is arranged on the outer periphery of the rotor shaft 6 for holding the floating bearings 9, 10 at preset positions to impart the function of receiving thrust to the floating bearings 9, 10. No thrust bearing is used, and so the construction of the bearing device for the turbocharger is simplified for reducing mechanical loss, thus improving the total efficiency of the whole turbocharger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
