<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump type water heater equipped with structure for reducing installation work in an installation field. <P>SOLUTION: An enclosure 10 is provided in a box shape so that a heat pump unit 100 and a hot water storage tank unit 200 are surrounded. The enclosure 10 comprises a leg section 11; a bottom board 12, a sidewall enclosure 14, a partition plate 16, and a top 17. A hot water tank 201 is arranged at the lower space divided by the partition plate 16. A compressor 101, an expansion valve, a water heat exchanger, and a circulation pump 202 are arranged between the corner section of the sidewall enclosure 14 and the outer surface of the hot water storage tank 201.
