PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an allergen inactivating apparatus for inactivating allergens, such as corpses, feces or the like of fleas or mites, that exist on the skin or the body hairs of animals, such as dogs, cats or the like. SOLUTION: The allergen inactivating apparatus comprises a treatment bag 120 for receiving and sealing an animal 110 while exposing its nose, mouth and ears and a treatment gas supply unit 30 for supplying a treatment gas to the treatment bag 120. The treatment gas supply unit 30 generates the treatment gas that contains active species generated by an oxidative degradation reaction of methanol and supplies the treatment gas to the treatment bag 120. By using the treatment gas, allergens existing on the skin or the body hairs of the animal 110 can be inactivated at a low treatment temperature of 40°C or below. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
