<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for sharpening blades of a rotary cutting device simply re-sharpening, in particular, an upper blade part at low cost though maintaining high cutting accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary cutting device (1) has a first blade part (6) which works together with a second blade part in a cutting step and forms a first cutting element (5) together with a first fitting base. The second blade part forms a second cutting element together with a second fitting base. To sharpen one blade part (6), the other blade part is detached and replaced by a sharpening disk (12).
