Method for placing a bet by a user (1) of a mobile phone (4) with a central accepting point (2) has the following steps: transmission of a request (5) to place a bet; checking by the central point of whether the bet is acceptable; generation and transmission of a transaction code (10) for the bet to the mobile phone; transmission of bet information from the mobile phone to the central point; checking the result of the bet by the central point and assignment of win information (11) to the transaction code. The invention also relates to a system and software for implementation of the inventive method.
