A color cathode ray tube is provided to achieve improved color purity by correcting a mis-landing of electron beam caused due to the non-uniform thermal expansion of a shadow mask occurred during operation of the cathode ray tube. A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel having an inner surface on which a phosphor screen is formed; a funnel coupled to the panel such that a high vacuum condition is maintained; an electron gun for emitting electron beams; a shadow mask(40) having a plurality of electron beam passing holes; and a frame(70) for supporting the shadow mask, by contacting a skirt portion(43) of the shadow mask. The front surface of the shadow mask has at least one corner having a radius of curvature of 50mm or larger. The gap between the shadow mask and the frame is formed at a corner of the shadow mask.
