A color cathode ray tube is provided to reduce a temperature difference in a shadow mask and achieve improved color purity by increasing the area of the shadow mask on which electron beams are scanned. A color cathode ray tube comprises a shadow mask including an aperture portion, a non-aperture portion, and a skirt portion; and a frame for supporting the shadow mask, wherein the frame has a lower end bent inwardly. The aperture portion has a plurality of electron beam passing holes, and the non-aperture portion is formed around the aperture portion and does not have an electron beam passing hole. The skirt portion is bent in a rearward direction around the non-aperture portion. The formula Da<HaxLa/P+Na is satisfied, wherein La is the distance from the front center point of the shadow mask to the shorter side among edges of the aperture portion, Na is the distance from the shorter side among edges of the aperture portion to the bent side of the skirt portion, P is the distance from the electron beam deflection center point to the front center point of the shadow mask, Ha is the distance from the shorter side among the bent sides of the skirt portion to the shorter side among lower bent sides of the frame, and Da is the bent width to the inside of the shorter side among the lower bent sides of the frame.
