An apparatus and method for processing a signal of a remote controller are provided to make an indoor environment look neat in spite of installation of multiple devices and enhance users' convenience. An RC(Remote Controller) includes a plurality of keys and remotely transmits a signal according to key input of a user. An image display unit(100) receives a signal transmitted from the RC and provides it to a pertinent external device according to an input mode, or processes a control command according to the reception signal. A plurality of external devices(200,300) receive the reception signal from the image display device(100) and process the control command according to the reception signal.
