A multifunctional information device is provided to omit construction of a network by employing PLC(Power Line Communication) and allow a user to watch or listen to a TV or radio broadcast program by comprising an LCD monitor unit connected to a main body. A PLC modem(280) receives a control signal outputted from a controller(200) and converts it into a PLC signal. A DTMF(Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) detector(221) detects a DTMF inputted from an external user. A DTMF processor(222) receives the DTMF signal from the DTMF detector(221), converts it into an operation command, and outputs the operation command to the controller(200). A remote processor(203) receives the operation command from the DTMF processor(222), converts it into a control signal, and outputs the control signal to the PLC modem(280).
