摘要 An in-plane switching mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) for maintaining maximum brightness even at more than a Vmax voltage for the maximum brightness by arranging a common electrode and a pixel electrode vertically to each other. A gate line(101) and a data line(103) are arranged to vertical and horizontal directions, respectively, on the first substrate so as to define a pixel(P). At least two first electrodes(106) are placed in the pixel in parallel with the gate line. At least two second electrodes(107) vertically cross the first electrodes. The first and second alignment films are formed on surfaces of the first and second substrates, respectively, wherein the surfaces are opposite to each other. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first and second substrates. The first electrode is a common electrode and the second electrode is a pixel electrode.
