AIR CLEANER

To provide an air cleaner which has purified air discharged into a room considering sensitivity of users in the room and enables components capable of providing the human body with beneficial effects to be added to the air cleaner, and a method for controlling operation of the air cleaner. The air cleaner comprises: a body(100) comprising an inlet(110) through which air inside a room is sucked into the body, and an outlet(120) through which purified air is discharged into the room; a filter part(200) installed at the inlet in the body to remove dust in air sucked in and deodorize the air; an exhaust fan(300) installed in the body to provide air suction power and air discharge power; a sensing part(500) installed on a path through which air in the body flows to sense components of flowing air; a component supply part(600) installed on a path through which air in the body flows to supply at least one or more deficient components to flowing air; and a control part(700) for controlling a component supply amount of the component supply part by analyzing components of air sensed by the sensing part.
