FIELD: purification of contaminated drinking water. ^ SUBSTANCE: composition, method and kit for purification and clarification of contaminated drinking water, as well as (optionally) nutrient addition include original coagulation agent and bridged flocculating agent, cationic polymer of certain molecular weight, water-soluble alkali, disinfectant, water-insoluble silicate with specific component ratio. In most proffered embodiment of the invention composition contains chitosan as coagulation-conducing cationic compound; chlorine-based germicide disinfectant (e.g., calcium hypochlorite), water-soluble alkali, water-insoluble silicate, and nutrient or nutrient source.
