[Also in Divisions B3 and H1] Spacers for stacks of plates are cast in situ, passing through holes in each plate aligned with corresponding holes in the other plates, the hardened casting material enveloping the part of the plates adjacent the holes. Moulding spacers 18 may be provided between the plates 14 and 15, having holes aligned with the holes in the plates, so defining moulds in which the spacers may be cast; these moulding spacers may be removable, e.g. of salt, or permanent. Cores 19 may be provided to give rise to hollow spacers. |
