<p>A flotation device (10) comprising an inflatable bladder (12), an elongated tubular body (11) defining a chamber (28) containing compressed gas for inflating the bladder (12), the bladder (12) being sealed to the tubular body (11) such that the bladder (12) surrounds one end of the tubular body (11), a gas releasing passage (32) and a sealing plug (33) in the passage (32), the plug (33) being retained in the passage (32) to prevent escape of gas into the bladder (12). The tubular body (11) and bladder (12) are arranged in a pouch (13) and a release strap (19) holds the bladder (12) against the end of the body (11) to prevent the plug (33) being displaced from the passage (32).</p> |
