PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collectively and systematically evaluate a correlation between a composition and a melting point characteristic of a polyelementary substance, using a thin film having a composition distribution zone. SOLUTION: A plurality of different metal substances is vapor-deposited on a surface of a substrate 3 to form the thin film 15 provided with the composition distribution zone L of which the composition is varied continuously, and the thin film 15 is heated up to a prescribed temperature, so as to determine a molten condition on a heated composition distribution zone surface.
