The hub for reels of welding wire comprises a cylindrical shaft (14) with a flange (16) at one end and a threaded opposite end (18), on to which a nut (20) screws. An annular mounting (28) is fitted against the inner surface of the flange and secured by pins (34, 36) and a spacer ring (30) fits against the inner surface of the nut. This allows narrow reels to be fitted on the hub.
