PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desk provided with a top shelf including the top shelf on a top plate of the desk, wherein the flat part of the top shelf can be used long sideways and strength is secured even when placing a heavy article on the flat part. SOLUTION: The desk is constituted so that the top plate 2 is provided with a removable flat plate 7a and at least one removable flat plate 7b in addition to the flat plate 7a, and screw through holes for fitting the flat plate 7a are bored in the standing wall 5 of the top shelf 2, and internal threads are formed in the back surface of the flat plate 7a, and in addition screw through holes 13 are bored in the side surfaces of the flat plate 7a, and internal threads 12 are formed in the side wall 4 of the top shelf 2, wherein the flat plate 7a can be fixed to the right or left position of the top shelf with screws, and the flat plate 7b can be housed in a remaining space after fitting the flat plate 7a to the top shelf.
