PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simulating forging and normalizing whereby an optimum soaking time in a forging and normalizing step can be easily and precisely estimated. SOLUTION: The method for simulating forging and normalizing is one which simulates forging and subsequent normalizing of a steel material through heat transfer analysis. The method comprises a normalizing temperature determining step (S102) wherein the set temperature of a normalizing furnace is determined based on the kind of the target steel material, radiational cooling analyzing steps (S103, S104) wherein the temperature at which the target steel material is charged into the normalizing furnace is determined by analyzing temperature change of the target steel material from the completion of forging to charging into the normalizing furnace and an in-furnace analyzing step (S105) wherein temperature change and phase transformation of the target steel material in the normalizing furnace are analyzed. In the in-furnace analysis step, the required residence time in the normalizing furnace for the target steel material is determined based on the results of the simulation of the temporal change in the ratio of a target phase in the target steel material.
