A flexible closure comprises a pair of flexible resilient closure strips 9, 9<SP>1</SP> each having a web portion 9a, 9b, provided with an integral marginal portion 16, 19, each marginal portion having ribs and grooves extending therealong interlockable with the ribs and grooves on a facing surface of the other marginal portion, one of the marginal portions 9a extending substantially parallel to its associated web portion, so as to be wholly beyond the web portion, and the other of the marginal portions, 10a, being alongside its associated web portion, and hinged thereto by a hinge portion 17, formed integral with and seamlessly joined to the web and marginal portions, and being sufficiently flexible so as to permit pivotal movement of the marginal portion with respect to the web portion. As shown each marginal portion is provided with two grooves 23 and two ribs 24 of the same cross sectional shape and the strips are attached (or can be integral with) the walls 10, 11 of a pouch. Adjacent the lower face of the portion 17 notches are provided to improve the flexibility of the connection. The strips are engaged and disengaged either by manual pressure, in which case a rib is provided on the upper edge of each strip to aid the engagement and disengagement, or alternative by a U-shaped slider 25. The slider is provided with a partition 25f for separating the strips and this comprises a bent extension at an enlarged end of the slider. |
