摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform compensation for dispersion in image density of a photosensitive material easily and with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A main controller 101 automatically calculates an optical modulation signal level for each color, so as to compensate to a predetermined coloring level by supplementing the variation of the coloring level of the photosensitive material obtained by reading a test chart 200 using a colorimeter 22, by use of a variation characteristic indicating the relation between the variation of the optical modulation signal level for the light of one color among the lights of various colors stored in a bias characteristic information storage 1031, and the variation of an improper coloring level which is produced by the contamination of the coloring level of a photosensitive material by the light of the other colors with a wavelength component proper to the light of the one color, accompanying the above variation of the optical modulation signal level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
