PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a setting alteration made by an illegal act during business by previously setting a time zone in which a setting alteration can be forbidden, and monitoring the time zone. SOLUTION: The method for preventing the illegal act in a game machine comprises a step of specifying the time of receiving a setting command, by a timer (S4); a step of comparing the specified time with information on a setting alteration time zone stored in a setting alteration time zone storage part, by a setting alteration time zone determining part (S5); and a step of performing error processing by determining illegal setting change processing when the time corresponds to the setting alteration improper time zone (S7) and performing setting alteration processing by determining regular setting alteration processing when the time does not correspond to the setting alteration improper time zone (S6).
