PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and effectively prevent a deterioration in recorded image from being caused by thickening of ink in an ink tank of an inkjet printer. SOLUTION: This inkjet printer 1 is equipped with a recording head 6 which is provided with a nozzle for ejecting the ink 8 to a recording medium P, and the ink tank 10 for storing the ink 8 to be supplied to the recording head 6. The inkjet printer 1 is also equipped with a moisture retention liquid tank 16 wherein a moisture retention liquid 19 is stored and which communicates with the ink tank 10, and a communicating tube 15 for making the ink tank 10 communicate with the tank 16; and the liquid 19 is a saturated aqueous solution of salt.
