PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct a barrier synchronization at high speed between multiprocessors by reducing the overhead of parallel processing without adding a special hardware mechanism. SOLUTION: The barrier synchronization processing is conducted by allocating a synchronous flag region 5 indicative of a synchronous point indicating the completion of the execution of each processor 1 for barrier synchronization on a shared memory 4, updating the synchronous flag region 5 by means of software in accordance with an execution state, and comparing the synchronous flag regions 5 of the other processors participating in the barrier synchronization with each other by means of each processor 1.
