PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separate type air conditioner capable of realizing control necessary for the air conditioner such as defrosting control while realizing shared use of an inner and outer connection wire with an inverter type machine, in the separate type air conditioner equipped with cooling and heating operation modes at a fixed speed. SOLUTION: An in-out connection wire for electrically connecting indoor and outdoor is structured by using three electric wires. A compressor 5, fan motor 6, a four-way valve 7 and a control board 22 equipped with a microcomputer 30 for controlling electric supply to these and a switch relay 16 for switching a circuit with relays 15, 17, 18 are provided on an outdoor unit 2.
