<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water supply system capable of carrying out additional heating operation even when hot water stored in a hot water reserve tank has tendency to be short. <P>SOLUTION: This system comprises a reservoir-type hot water supply unit 10 for reserving hot water in the hot water reserve tank 12 by a heat pump unit 11, and an additional heating system that carries out additional heating operation by circulating hot water in a bath tub B with heat-exchanging the hot water with hot water reserved in the hot water reserve tank 12 by a variable flow rate type additional heating circulation pump 23. When the hot water reserve heat quantity inside the hot water reserve tank 12 is below the minimum hot water reserve heat quantity required at that time, the reservoir-type hot water supply unit 10 starts hot water reserve operation, and when the hot water reserve heat quantity inside the hot water reserve tank 12 reaches the maximum hot water reserve heat quantity required at that time, the reservoir-type hot water supply unit 10 stops hot water reserve operation.
