METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR MULTIPLE OFFLOAD OF NETWORK STATE OBJECTS WITH SUPPORT FOR FAILOVER EVENTS

A method and a computer product program for multiple offload of network state objects supporting failover events are provided to enhance communication reliability between a host processor and a peripheral processor by offloading network communications on a replacement device when failover events occur. A switching layer(108) and more than one intermediate software layer of a network protocol stack are included in computerized system. Each of the intermediate software layers includes respective status objects. The plural state objects are processed while maintaining integrity of network communication between more than one destination component and more than one source component. An offload data structure is generated. The offload data structure includes a hierarchical structure of the plural status objects. The plural status objects correspond to the status of the corresponding intermediate software layers. More than two status objects in the same intermediate software layer of the offload data structure are transmitted from the source component to the destination component. The destination component processes the status objects on the same protocol layer.
