An automatic regulator mechanism for operating a sliding window 1 of a vehicle, comprises an electric motor and reduction unit 7 having its output shaft 6 provided with at least one pinion 9 in meshing engagement with a rack 10 joined to a support 11 fixed to the door panel 16, and is characterized in that said motor and reduction unit 7 is suspended from the glass channel 2 by means of said output shaft 6 so that the unit can oscillate about the axis of the shaft which remains parallel to its position in the glass closed position. The glass channel 2 preferably has a plate extension 3 supporting a T-sectioned guide member 4 sliding in rectilinear slideway 12. The guidemember 4 may also act as a bearing 8 to one end of shaft 6, the other end of which engages bearing 5 carried by the glass channel 2. The flexible mounting of unit 7 finds application in narrow or contorted shape doors. |
