A low voltage alarm method in a mobile terminal is provided to prevent an unnecessary misunderstanding on the other side by transmitting a low voltage alarm message to the other side in the form of a short message in case that a mobile terminal detects a low voltage state of battery power. A control part periodically checks the battery residual quantity of a mobile terminal through a low voltage detection part(S21), and compares it with the first voltage threshold(S22). In case that the battery residual is less than the first voltage threshold, the control part compares it with the second voltage threshold(S23). In case that the battery residual is larger than the second voltage threshold, the control part generates a low voltage alarm sound through an alarm part in order to announce the low voltage state to the user(S24). However, if the battery residual is less than the second voltage threshold, the control part confirms whether the user is in the middle of telephone conversation(S25). If the user is in the middle of telephone conversation, the control part confirms whether a low voltage alarm message transmission mode is in an active state(S26). If the low voltage alarm message transmission mode is active, the control part loads a low voltage alarm message previously stored in a memory, processes it through an RF processing part, and transmits it to a mobile communication network(S28). Then the control part turns off the power of the mobile terminal(S29).
