To provide a system and a method for incinerating sludge, which are able to decrease the water content of the sludge less than 20% by drying dehydrated sludge using microwave. The system comprises a sludge thickener (21) for thickening sludge, a dehydrator (23) which dehydrates the thickened sludge transferred from the sludge thickener to decrease volume and weight of the sludge, a microwave drier (25) which irradiates microwave to the dehydrated sludge to dry, a incineration furnace (27) which incinerates the dried sludge, and a power generator (29) which generates power using steam generated from the incineration process of the dried sludge. |
