The lock (1) comprises a manually rotated handle (2) connected to a latch (6) and a locking mechanism for blocking the handle against rotation. This locking mechanism is designed to be operated by the same hand which is holding the handle. An actuator system (16) preferably provided on the handle is used to release the locking mechanism and is activated by moving it in one of at least two directions extending at an angle to each other. The two directions are substantially at right angles to each other and one of these directions extends substantially parallel to the plane of the wing.
