The invention relates to a system (1) for providing trolleys (7) which respectively comprise a deposit lock (8) fitted with a blocking mechanism (9). The inventive system comprises a collection point (2) in which the trolleys (7) can be parked in at least one row (3) in such a way that they are coupled to each other on a deposit basis, and can be removed again from said at least one row (3) by payment of a deposit. Said system is also provided with a device (5) which acts on the blocking mechanism (9) of each deposit lock (8) in the region of the collection point (2), such that the trolleys (7) can only be coupled and uncoupled inside the collection point (2). The invention is characterised in that the device (5) comprises at least one transmitter (6) and the blocking mechanism (9) of each deposit lock (8) is provided with electrical control means (10) which can be controlled by the device (5).
