A write-once optical disk and a management information recording method of the optical disk are provided to define a kind of new SRR(Sequential Recording Range) and a kind of session, and to record padding identification information and session identification information within SRR information, thereby effectively recording/managing management information. One SRR entry corresponding to one SRR formed within a disk is recorded within SRR information. Information showing a position of an open SRR entry of the recorded SRR entry is recorded within the SRR information. Padding identification information for distinguishing whether a close SRR is closed by a padding process or without the padding process is recorded within the SRR entry. Session identification information showing that the corresponding SRR is a start SRR of a session is further comprised within the SRR entry.
