PURPOSE: Provided is an organic electrolyte, which includes an additive having low reactivity to lithium metal and capable of dissociating lithium polysulfide to cause sulfur to participate continuously in the electrochemical reaction, and thus improves the discharge capacity and cycle life characteristics of a lithium-sulfur battery. CONSTITUTION: The organic electrolyte for a lithium-sulfur battery comprising a lithium salt and an organic solvent further comprises a compound represented by the following formula 1. In formula 1, R1 represents any one selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, C1-C30 substituted or non-substituted alkyl, substituted or non-substituted C6-C30 aryl, substituted or non-substituted C1-C30 alkoxy and substituted or non-substituted C8-C30 aralkenyl, wherein hydrogen atoms present on an aromatic ring may be substituted with optional substituents; and R2 represents a group represented by the following formula 2 or 3, wherein each of R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 independently represents H or a C1-C5 linear or branched alkyl or alkoxy group; and x is an integer of 2-5. |
