PURPOSE: Provided is an organic electrolyte, which improves the discharge capacity and life characteristics of a lithium-sulfur battery by using an additive capable of dissociating lithium polysulfide to cause sulfur to participate continuously in the electrochemical reaction. CONSTITUTION: The organic electrolyte for a lithium-sulfur battery comprising a lithium salt and an organic solvent further comprises a borate compound represented by the following formula 1. In formula 1, each of R1 and R2 independently represents a hydrogen atom or C1-C5 linear or branched alkyl or alkoxy group, or R1 and R2 are bonded to each other to form a ring; and each of R3 and R4 independently represents a hydrogen atom or C1-C5 linear or branched alkyl or alkoxy group. |
