Motor vehicle structure consisting of a frame with rigidly fixed panels e.g. for its floor (2) and roof, has at least one of the panels held in place by fastenings along fixed line or points with shock absorbers (5) interposed between the panels and frame to prevent transmission of vibrations. The frame has a torsion stiffness of below 1 mrd, and preferably below 0.8 mrd and the fastenings can be in the form of screws, rivets or spot welds.
