ERROR PREVENTION DEVICE FOR SENSOR DETECTING DISCONNECTION OF AN INHIBITOR SWITCH USED FOR AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BY DETECTING SHIFT LEVER STOP IN A BLANK SECTION BETWEEN SHIFT LEVELS OF TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT

PURPOSE: An error prevention device for sensor detecting disconnection of an inhibitor switch used for an automatic transmission is provided to detect error by outputting a disconnection sensing signal by determining the disconnection of the inhibitor switch by a transmission control unit and a blank section sensing fixed contact point if a shift lever stops in a blank section between shift levels. CONSTITUTION: An inhibitor switch for an automatic transmission is composed of a body(41); plural shift level sensing fixed contact points(42¯48) separated from each other and fixed on the body; a control lever interlocking with a shift lever; and a movable contact point interlocking with the operation of the control lever and sliding among the shift level sensing fixed contact points to vary the contact points. A disconnection sensing error prevention device for the inhibitor switch comprises a blank section sensing fixed contact point(60) disposed and fixed in the body to contact with the movable contact point in a blank section among the shift level sensing fixed contact points and a transmission control unit for controlling the transmission by detecting the shift level by a signal generated in contacting the movable contact point with the shift level sensing fixed contact point. The transmission control unit controls the transmission in a general method without outputting a disconnection sensing signal if the signal about contact between the movable contact point and the shift level sensing fixed contact point is not input and a signal generated in contacting the movable contact point with the blank section sensing fixed contact point is input.
