METHOD FOR PRODUCING L-LYSINE OR L-THREONINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bacterium belonging to genus Escherichia having an enhanced productivity of L-lysine or L-threonine and to provide a method for producing L-lysine or L-threonine by using the same.

SOLUTION: The bacterium belonging to the genus Escherichia capable of producing L-lysine or L-threonine and which is modified so that a malic enzyme does not normally function in a cell, wherein a gene encoding said malic enzyme is mutated or the like, and the invention relates to the method for producing L-lysine or L-threonine by using the same.
