<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film excellent in planarity, adhesion and optical characteristics, even when a thin film or a broad film superior in environmental suitability in manufacture is used, and to provide a method for manufacturing the optical film, and a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display which use the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film is obtained, by disposing a resin layer on a cellulose ester film substrate manufactured by a solution flow casting method, in which the residual amount of a chlorine-containing solvent is <0.01 mass%, by applying a coating composition for a cured-resin layer on the film substrate, wherein the coating composition for a cured-resin layer, containing at least a resin and a solvent, has a solid content of 10-70 mass% and contains ≥30 mass% of water in the solvent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
