PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for observing a liquid droplet which can observe efficiently and accurately the liquid droplets discharged from a plurality of nozzle holes of a liquid droplet discharge head. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for observing the liquid droplet observes the liquid droplets 200 discharged and flown from the plurality of the nozzle holes 101 provided in the liquid droplet discharge head 100. This apparatus 1 for observing the liquid droplet has a mirror disposed so as to realize intersection of reflected beams 241, 242 of two laser beams 233, 234 by reflecting by the mirror installed variably in a direction with any trajectory of the a plurality of the trajectories of the liquid droplets 200 corresponding to the plurality of the nozzle holes 101, detects an output signal of a photo-detecting means 4 receiving the reflected beams 241, 242 for photo-electrically converting the reflected beams 241, 242 in a state that the mirror is oriented to make the reflected beams 241, 242 intersect the trajectory of the liquid droplet 200 corresponding to the nozzle holes 101 to be observed, and obtains information regarding the liquid droplet 200 based on the output signal.
