<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the engine, to control the color material amount of the printing agent suitably, and to control the color material amount of printing agent suitably at the time of print processing after storing the print data in the print medium, by performing color material amount limit again, in a case that the assumed medium type and medium type to output do not match after performing color material amount limitation of the printing agent in the RIP (Raster Image Processing) section for each medium type and performing color material amount limitation. <P>SOLUTION: When a user has turned ON the CMS processing, the CMS section controls the toner application amount with the optimal toner application amount for the medium type which was determined beforehand, and (the print data) is actually output to the printer after rendering, the medium type is checked again.
