<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automotive steering feeling setting device capable of setting desired steering feeling. <P>SOLUTION: The automotive steering feeling setting device comprises a steering force characteristic control means (a second control unit 24) to control the steering force characteristic, a vehicular responsive characteristic control means (a third control unit 28) to control the vehicular responsive characteristic, and a steering feeling setting means to set desired steering feeling. The steering feeling setting means controls the steering force control means and/or the vehicular responsive characteristic control means so that the ratio of the decrease in the steering force to the decrease in the steering angle in an off-center area before the predetermined steering force is achieved from the start of turning a steering wheel constantly irrespective of the change in the vehicle speed when a driver turns the steering wheel in a straight-running condition at a speed not lower than a predetermined value, and then, returns the steering wheel, and a ratio of the decrease in the steering force to the decrease in the steering angle in an on-center area with the steering force not more than a predetermined value are within a predetermined ratio range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
